Meet the Finalists of Miss Finland 2009

The 10 lucky finalists of Miss Finland 2009 were chosen among the 37 semifinalists on Friday, February 13th at Hotel Arthur, Helsinki. They are:

1. Elsi Suolanen, a 19-years-old high school graduate currently working as sales assistant from Helsinki. Elsi is 175 cm tall, weighs 57 kg. Her measurements are 85-61-92.

2. Linda Wiksted, a 20-years-old high school graduate and model from Helsinki. Linda is 174 cm tall and weighs 51 kg. Her measurements are 84-65-89.

3. Heli Kuhlberg, a 22-years-old dressmaker from Nummela. Heli is 170 cm tall and weighs 55 kg. Her measurements are 85-64-91.

4. Henna Lintukangas, a 20-years-old beautician from Helsinki. Henna is 181 cm tall and weighs 60 kg. Her measurements are 85-66-96.

5. Minna Nikola, a 19-years-old teacher assistant from Espoo. Minna is 170 cm tall and weighs 52 kg. Her measurements are 88-61-91.

6. Pauliina Markkola, a 20-years-old high school graduate and model from Tampere. Pauliina is 172 cm tall and weighs 52 kg. Her measurements are 89-67-91.

7. Annika Fagerström, a 22-years-old enterpreneur from Turku. Annika is 172 cm tall and weighs 56 kg. Her measurements are 86-64-91.

8. Ulla Mattsson, a 20-years-old speechcommunication student from Tampere. Ulla is 176 cm tall and weighs 58 kg. Her measurements are 88-68-96.

9. Essi Pöysti, a 21-years-old nursing student from Jyväskylä. Essi is 174 cm tall and weighs 56 kg. Her measurements are 86-64-90.

10. Noora Salo, a 19-years-old beauty sector management student from Turku. Noora is 173 cm tall and weighs 57 kg. Her measurements are 90-65-93.

The candidates range from true pageant veterans to complete newcomers to the scene. For Henna this is the very first pageant she's ever entered. Heli reached the Miss Finland semis last years, but renounced her place for family matters. Minna has been the runner-up to Miss World Finland twice, but is a first timer in Miss Finland. Linda has even entered a major, International pageant, representing Finland in Miss World just a few months ago. Ulla was our representive in Miss Tourism Queen 2007, and Essi both a National finalist in Miss Finland and an International runner-up placing 3rd in Miss Tourism Metropolitan International in 2007.

Since Friday the candidates have been busy with various photoshoots, media appearances and television recordings. They will contunue shooting inserts shown during the live television broadcast to be transmitted in March 1st until Wednesday, and then depart for the traditional, weeklong tour around Finland.
